We teamed up with Forever Video UK and White Pearl Maldives to show you what the experience of a cruise-focused luxury liveaboard is like as an alternative to a dive-centric liveaboard.
Liveaboards are an increasingly popular option for holidays in the Maldives. A decade ago, most liveaboards in the Maldives were exclusively focussed on scuba diving and involved an average of three dives per day. However, some liveaboard operators, like White Pearl Maldives, are now offering luxury cruises for tourists who might not want to dive every day.
Typically, liveaboards (also known as ‘safari boats’ locally) will sail around the central atolls for five to seven days (or even the northern/southern atolls for longer itineraries). The schedule will offer scuba diving options but also activities such as snorkeling, jetskis, beach BBQs, and tours of island villages.
White Pearl is one of the most luxurious liveaboards in the Maldives and the experience is more akin to being aboard a private yacht than the typical Maldives liveaboard experience, what with its hot tub, and two spas (indoor and outdoor).
Manta Media Maldives was lucky enough to be invited aboard White Pearl by DiveBnB in partnership with Forever Video UK, a film and video production agency, to experience a week-long cruise around the central atolls.
The luxury vessel contained some of the largest cabins we have seen of any safari boat in the Maldives, while the cuisine and service were on par with a five-star resort. You can see the highlights in the video above.
