Craig Anderson will be part of surfing royalty line-up for the Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy 2025
Four Seasons Resorts Maldives has revealed Australian surfer Craig Anderson will be joining this year’s Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy. The annual event, now in its 13th year, will take place from September 4th to 11th. Speaking about the upcoming contest, Craig Anderson said: “I’m so stoked I got the call-up, the Surfing Champions Trophy looks insanely fun. “I’ve only been to the Maldives once before, on my honeymoon, so I’m excited to pack a few more boards this time.”
Craig and the other surfing superstar competitors will battle it out for the chance of winning the trophy and $25,000USD. It will take place at Sultan’s Surf Point in North Male’ Atoll, close to Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. Previous winners include surfing legends such as Kelly Slater and Taj Burrows. More of the line-up of this year’s international and local competitors will be revealed over the coming months.
Although Craig Anderson is best known as a free surfer, the event’s format appeals to his style. The heats are held across three divisions (single fin, twin fin, and thruster ‘tri-fin’ boards). “I’m no contest surfer but I’ve kept an eye on this event for years and always wanted to be part of it. Alternate boards in perfect waves? Can’t wait!” he added.
