Stuart Pearce and Wes Brown will put aspiring footballers through their paces
Following the success of this summer’s inaugural celebrity football camp, Kuramathi Maldives has revealed Stuart Pearce MBE will return in 2026 to lead more kids’ coaching sessions. The footy camps are for kids aged four to 16.
Earlier this year, Stuart, who is one of England’s best-known football icons, helped kick off Kuramathi Maldives’ first-ever Campioni Soccer Academy, accompanied by John Barnes and Harry Redknapp. And it’s just been announced that next year, Stuart will be joined at the Rasdhoo Atoll resort by Manchester United’s treble-winning defender, Wes Brown.
UEFA ‘A’ licensed coach, Adrian Whitbread, will be on hand to assist Stuart and Wes. He’ll team up with Stuart to train kids between July 27th, 2026, and August 1st, 2026. Then Adrian will work alongside Wes between August 3rd to August 8th, 2026.
In typical Maldives-style, the two-week 2026 Campioni Soccer Academy will kick off with a beachfront welcome reception. Families will be able to meet Stuart and Wes, and collect their bespoke training kits, before getting stuck in with the daily interactive training sessions. Any participating kids will be able to hone their skills as well as learn the importance of teamwork, strategy, and good sportsmanship.
Stuart Pearce said: “This year’s Campioni Soccer Academy at Kuramathi was fantastic, and I can’t wait to return in Summer 2026 to meet a new group of families.
“The work we get to do with Campioni is always inspiring – in every training session I see potential. Campioni isn’t just about learning new football skills; it’s about inspiring young minds to dream big and work hard”.
During the training sessions, parents will be able to unwind at the resort’s restaurants and beaches knowing their children are in safe hands. And they can even compete with other parents in the Parents’ Game, taking place midweek, if they’re feeling left out of the action.
“Seeing kids improve through the week of coaching is always what I enjoy most about Campioni,” said Wes Brown. “I can’t wait to be at Kuramathi next Summer. The Maldives feels like the perfect destination for kids and families to have a great experience”.
Stuart and Wes will also give young Maldivian footballers from neighbouring islands a chance to perfect their skills. Kids from Thoddoo and Rasdhoo football academies will also meet with the football stars as part of the programme.
