Resort continues to support local communities in the Maldives
Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa in Male’ Atoll has donated $5,509USD worth of mattresses to a local orphanage. The donation was handed over to Fiyavathi Orphanage in Hulhumale’ by Sheraton Maldives‘ general manager, Greg Allan on Tuesday (13 May).
Greg said: “At Sheraton Maldives, we believe that true hospitality extends beyond our resort. This donation is a reflection of our dedication to the local community and our hope to contribute positively to the daily lives of these children”.
The donated mattresses will help improve the comfort of the children living at the orphanage. Fiyavathi Orphanage is a government-run facility in Hulhumale’ that provides shelter, education, and care for orphaned and vulnerable children from across the Maldives. Hulhumale is the inhabited artificial island joined by a causeway to the international airport island (Hulhule’) that the majority of visitors to the Maldives fly into. It was built to ease overcrowding in the capital city, Male’.

The donation was part of Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa’s commitment to corporate social responsibility. If you are the type of traveller that likes to pick hotels that give something back to their local community or the environment, then you may be interested to know the Sheraton Maldives has a long track record of doing exactly that.
