Guests are snapping up reservations for Christophe Chiavola’s four-day tropical culinary residency
While there aren’t any Michelin-starred restaurants in the Maldives, many luxury resorts invite Michelin-starred chefs for special short-term residencies. These exclusive opportunities for guests are typically only available for a few days or up to a week. So, with only a finite number of days and limited numbers of tables, these highly-prized events are like gold dust. Dusit Thani Maldives has just revealed that it is one of the latest five-star resorts planning to host a Michelin-starred chef.
The Baa Atoll resort is welcoming Christophe Chiavola from March 5th to 10th, 2026. Chef Chiavola is bringing his refined, seasonal artistry to Dusit Thani Maldives’ oceanfront restaurant, Sea Grill. And as you may expect, guests are already making reservations for the hottest table in the Indian Ocean.

Known for his precise technique, elegant plating, and reverence for natural ingredients, Chef Christophe is currently at the helm of the Michelin-starred Le Prieuré Baumanière in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, France. He plans to take any guests lucky enough to have secured a booking on an unforgettable culinary journey. French finesse will meet Maldivian inspiration, using the finest local and international produce.
The chef will host four exclusive events over four days, which include a culinary masterclass by the ocean, a hands-on cooking class (offering an introduction to Michelin-starred techniques and seasonal flavour philosophies), and an Island Flavours Unveiled masterclass using fresh island produce.
Then the limited-time residency begins to wrap up with Shades of the Sea: A Cocktail & Dinner Evening. This promises to be an elegant sunset soiree featuring handcrafted cocktails and a curated multi-course dinner inspired by Chef Christophe’s French heritage and the spirit of the Maldives. To conclude, there will be a Michelin Star Gala. This one-night-only gala dinner will present Chef Christophe’s most celebrated dishes reimagined with Maldivian flair, served on the shoreline, under the stars.
Area General Manager of Dusit Thani Maldives, Jean-Louis Ripoche, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Chef Christophe Chiavola to Dusit Thani Maldives for this exclusive collaboration.
“His Michelin-starred expertise perfectly complements our vision of delivering exceptional culinary experiences infused with creativity, sustainability, and a sense of place. This residency will offer our guests a rare opportunity to savour world-class gastronomy in one of the Maldives’ most breathtaking settings”.
