A look at the sublime newly-upgraded over-water residence
Velaa Private Island has pulled back the curtain on its reimagined Ocean Pool House. Located at the end of the water villa jetty, the two-bedroom 493sqm (5,306sqft) villa is the largest and most luxurious over-water accommodation on the island.
Its new look showcases the very finest in contemporary coastal design, bringing together renowned architects, designers, and curators.
Joy Alexandre Harb, the architectural mastermind behind JYH International Architects, has thoughtfully transformed the layout of the Ocean Pool House. Harb has given the space a new sense of clarity, balance and flow that’s perfectly in harmony with the surrounding environment.
The interiors of the Ocean Pool House are enhanced even further by Eva Szumilas‘ sculptural furniture designs. These are complemented by artisanal and expressive pieces curated by L’ATELIER. Bespoke carpets by BM HOME bring a layer of warmth and texture, evoking powder-soft beach sand shaped by the wind.
The bespoke design elements converge together to create a beautiful living environment for families or groups of friends, reflecting the turquoise, amber and soft neutral colour palette of the Maldives.
