Football legends including Andy Cole set to coach young players
Premier League legends Andy Cole and Stuart Pearce are set to return to Niva Kuramathi to coach kids in 2027. The celebrity-led Campioni Soccer Academy is for boys and girls aged four to 16 of all abilities. It will take place during Easter 2027 and Summer 2027.
Week One, taking place at the North Ari Atoll resort over Easter 2027, will be led by former Manchester United striker and former England national team player, Andy Cole. Andy is one of the Premier League’s all-time greatest strikers, renowned for his sharp finishing, professionalism, and winning mentality. While at Manchester United, he won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and the Champions League as part of the historic 1999 Treble-winning side. Andy’s involvement will give young players a unique opportunity to learn what it takes to succeed at the highest level.
“Campioni Soccer Academy is always an incredible experience, and I’m really looking forward to joining the team at Niva Kuramathi next Easter,” said Andy. “It’s always rewarding to see families come together and watch kids learn, grow, and have fun through football, while also enjoying everything a destination like the Maldives has to offer.
“I’m sure this will be a truly memorable academy, and I can’t wait to see the young players embrace the experience, make new friends and create memories that will stay with them long after they leave the island”. Andy will pair up with UEFA ‘A’ Licensed coach Adrian Whitbread for the Easter football camp sessions.
For Week Two (July 26th – 31st July 2027), the resort will welcome one of England’s best-known and most loved football icons, Stuart Pearce MBE. Stuart previously was an England captain and has managed teams at the highest levels of the game. He is renowned for his passion, leadership, and determination.
Stuart, who will be accompanied by UEFA ‘A’ Licensed coach Adrian Whitbread, said, “I can’t wait to return to Niva Kuramathi for the Campioni Soccer Academy in Summer 2027. Last year’s academy was such a memorable experience, and I’m excited to meet another group of families and young players.
“What makes Campioni so special is seeing the confidence and potential that comes through in every session. It’s about more than football; it’s about encouraging young people to believe in themselves, aim high, and enjoy the journey along the way”.
Kids signing up to the Campioni Soccer Academy at Niva Kuramathi will receive two hours of professional coaching daily for a week during their holiday. It will kick off with a welcome reception on the beach, where families can meet the legends and collect their bespoke training kits.
Under the expert guidance of the pros, they will learn technical skills, game awareness, and overall development using the Football Association’s 4 Corner Model. Teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship are the cornerstones of these sessions.
Parents will be able to unwind across the resort knowing their children are safe, active, and inspired – or even lace up their own boots for the Parents’ Game midweek.
Local Maldivian football clubs will once again also be able to join, with young players receiving special coaching sessions led by Andy and Stuart.
