Resort offers highly sought-after freebies for couples celebrating a 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th or 50th wedding anniversary
This November, Milaidhoo Maldives in Baa Atoll celebrates ten years since it first opened its doors. To mark the occasion, the luxury resort is offering three special add-ons for any guests celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary this year. This trio of treats is also available for couples celebrating any wedding anniversary this year, provided it’s a multiple of 10 (such as a 20th, 30th, 40th, or 50th anniversary).
Qualifying couples must book a stay at the resort between now and the end of 2026. And in order to receive the free add-ons, they must book directly with the resort rather than through a travel agent or travel booking site. They can also simultaneously snap up any of the resort’s other special offers. Upon booking, they will need to show proof of their milestone wedding anniversary in the form of a marriage certificate.
This step has become necessary because there’s enormous demand from guests in the Maldives for free add-ons. It sometimes leads to couples stretching the truth about anniversaries and honeymoons in an attempt to claim freebies, according to a report by Condé Nast Traveller.
The trio of goodies any qualifying couples will receive includes an anniversary cake, a private cocktail-making class and a coral planting workshop.
For any other guests who don’t want to miss out, Milaidhoo resort has also created a week of activities (some complimentary, some chargeable) to celebrate the resort’s own 10th anniversary. The ’10 years, 10 Nights, 10 Privileges’ programme runs from November 23rd to 29th. It features the resort team’s recommendations of the top 10 ‘must-do’ activities at Milaidhoo.
The programme is curated for each guest and is quoted on a case-by-case basis. But options include a champagne sunrise cruise, guided snorkelling with the resort’s marine biologist, a sound healing session, a Maldivian feast, traditional Maldivian line fishing, sunset cocktails, and much more.
